Indoors: Finished second at the Conference USA Championships and registered a team-best 59-2.00 in the weight throw.
Outdoor: Finished third at the C-USA Championships in the hammer throw with a toss of 162-5...finished 21st at the Midwest Regional Championships with a throw of 166-7...won the LSU Relays and finished second at the Tom Tellez Invitational and the TSU Relays.
2003
Indoors: Had Houston's best mark in the weight throw with 54-9.25 at the Armory Collegiate Invitational. Outdoor: Competed in the hammer throw and had a career-best mark of 51.40 meters 168-8 at the Texas Relays...finished in third place at the Conference USA Championships and fourth place at the LSU Alumni Gold meet.
2002 :
Indoor: : Competed in the shot put and 20-lb. weight throw...finished third in the 20-lb. weight throw at the Southwest Invitational with a season-best mark of 49-10. Outdoor: : Had Houston's best throw in the hammer with a mark of 154-3 to finish in third place at the RunSport/Rice All-Comers meet...was fifth at the Tom Tellez Invitational and 10th at the Conference USA Championships.

Va....major at UH is kinesiology...daughter of Nona Cohen-Bowman in Vallejo...her mother is the director of human resources at the Vallejo City Unified School District...her father, Lewis Bowman played for the Atlanta Falcons of the NFL...came to Houston because of the academics and athletics program...favorite hobbies are reading and horseback riding.
